Gorilla trekking starts with an early morning briefying at the park headquarters. Bird watching is one of thrilling things do in Bwindi forest impenetrable National Park. It is best done in Buhoma sector along the forest Margins and in the Ruhija sector along Bwindi swamp trail. Here you get an opportunity to see the rare Albertine endemic species such as; Handsome Francolin, Blue-headed sun bird, Rwenzori night Jar, yellow-crested Helmet shrike, African green Broadbill,  Grauer’s Rush Warbler among others. Initially they were fruit gathers and hunters surviving 100% on the forest. Community charity project in Bwindi Forest ( Visit The ride for a Woman)

A ride for women is another exciting things to do in Bwindi Forest  community support group that began in as a mountain bike hire. The money collected from this bike rental is put back into the community to support the local women who have been victims of domestic violence.

This small project of bike rental is done in Buhoma, apparently its a sustainable women empowerment group with over 100 women. These are have been exposed to various skills like tailoring, catering and hospitality. This women project has managed to establish a guest house where many tourists on a gorilla safari can stay. This association at the same time acts as a training centre for many young women in the hospitality industry.
